Removing Increased Zinc Concentration in the Waste Stream
Case Study

A shooting sports manufacturer faced compliance risks when reducing water flow, which led to elevated zinc levels in wastewater. Concerned about exceeding discharge limits, the Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) Manager sought a solution to bring levels back into compliance. A thorough systems audit revealed inefficiencies in their aluminum-based chemistry, which was ineffective at settling contaminants.
A new treatment approach was implemented using AquaPure I-300, an iron-based blend, and B-Cat Polymer to enhance contaminant capture and speed up settling.
